KIMBER'S STORY

"Kimber" was surrendered to the Human Society of Washington County when she was seven weeks old, weighing a mere 7 ounces. She was a very sick little girl, and they were not too optimistic that she would pull through. We got a call asking if we would be interested in fostering this sick little girl and, without hesitation, we said "absolutely!" We met Kimber for the first time several weeks later when she was tipping the scales at 1 lb. 1 oz. She walked up to us, showed her teeth, shook her butt, wagged her tail, and started giving kisses all at the same time - so much heart in such a small package! We instantly fell in love with her. We were given the chance to foster her, with the request that we try to put some weight on her; ideally three whole pounds. Since everything gains weight in our house, we knew she'd have no problem achieving this goal. Within months Kimber was a healthy 3 lbs. 7 ounces. Around the time we were finalizing Kimber's adoption, we were given the opportunity to purchase the Wilson Ruritan, although we didn't know exactly what to call the property. When we would visit, Kimber would run through the field like she owned it, doing zoomies and figure-eight all over the place. After watching this replay over and over, the name was easy -

Kimber Meadows, part of her fur ever home.
